The 5-Minute Nervous System Reset I Use to Stay Grounded All Week
Lately, I’ve been using a simple reset that helps my body recalibrate so I feel strong on every level—physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s both easy, and takes almost zero effort. And it works quickly.
I felt I had to send it because, especially at the beginning of the week, it makes a big difference (but we can benefit by using it anytime.)
The thing is—even if you feel recharged after a good weekend, that fresh energy can sometimes lead you to push yourself harder than usual.
Then suddenly it’s Tuesday, and you’re thinking, “Wait… isn’t it Friday already?”
This 5-minute practice (this is the guided audio version I made of it) helps me stay clear, grounded, and calmly energized. It’s perfect for wherever you are in your day. You can think of it like banking resilience while you feel good now too.
Centering Nervous System Reset
5 minutes | Do it lying down | No special tools needed
Lie on the floor or bed with your knees bent and feet flat.
Rest one hand on your chest and one on your belly.
Inhale through your nose for a slow count of 4.
Exhale softly through your mouth for a count of 6—as if you’re gently fogging up a mirror.
Repeat for about 5 minutes or 8–10 slow rounds. Less is great too!
This reset activates the “parasympathetic” nervous system—the body’s “rest and restore” mode—engaging this can also help quiet your mind and help you become grounded and calm.
Even one round of this breath can help shift your energy, I know it does mine. I hope you’ll give it a try too and let it be a moment of kindness for yourself. You’ll be supported to meet any stress head on and with stronger resilience.
