Beyond MBSR: Ongoing Growth & Guidance

When Practice Evolves: A Mindful Return to Yourself

Jack Kornfield once titled a book “After the Ecstasy, the Laundry.” If you’ve been on the mindfulness path for a while, you probably get the sentiment. At some point, the glow of early transformation gives way to the rhythms (and messiness) of real life. Practices that once felt like lifelines can grow quiet. Or life throws something unexpected at you—and the tools you do have don’t quite stretch far enough.

If you're an MBSR alum, and your practice has gone a little flat—or life has just gotten complex in new ways—you’re not alone. All of us go through cycles. And sometimes what we need is a little support to reweave our mindfulness skills into the life we’re living now.

That’s where coaching comes in. Think of it as a space to gently reorient: to revisit your intentions, meet whatever’s present, and explore new ways to stay grounded and responsive—on and off the cushion.

If you're curious what this could look like for you, I’d love to chat. Whether it’s been months or years since we last connected, we can pick up the thread together and see what wants to unfold.

“Denise is an excellent example of living mindfully. Her lovely and thoughtful poems add depth to the overall concept and experience. I could go on and on about how much her knowledge and skillset adds.”

“Denise is a wonderful instructor! She is supportive and motivating. I really enjoy her teaching style, which lets us generate our own insights and points us in the right direction but gives us the freedom to have a unique and personal experience.”
