Reiki
WHAT IS REIKI? WHO BENEFITS FROM REIKI?
Reiki is an energy source that may be compared to chi or prana and it is always available. Anyone can be trained to practice reiki, however, in order to tap into this energy source one has to be “attuned” to it. During a reiki training course a “master” will attune his/her students through a simple ritualistic process. When reiki practitioners are attuned they can often actually feel the reiki energy heat start to warm their hands.
Reiki sessions are meant to create the right conditions for healing to happen. Once attuned (anyone can be attuned, there are no special requirements for attunement) a practitioner can use their hands to transfer reiki to other people. Reiki energy does not come from the practitioner but it travels through them. Reiki energywork is done by placing the hands on the client’s body in various positions, generally starting at the head. Sometimes clients will feel a sensation of heat, electricity, pulsation or other energy. It is not necessary to feel anything in order for the reiki to work. The person conducting the reiki session may also feel certain heat or pulsations while touching the client’s body.
After a reiki session a client will generally feel relaxed, at peace, energized or just very comfortable. Getting a reiki session is like taking a mini-vacation. It can be much like a mental/spiritual and emotional detox.
With an abundance of experience and skill, Denise offers an unforgettable experience of relaxation and healing. Denise Dempsey specializes in massage for relaxation, rejuvenation and healing. Oriented towards relieving muscle tension, improving circulation, and reducing emotional and physical stress, Denise's use of Swedish massage techniques helps the body detoxify by improving circulation and flushing the tissue of lactic acid and other metabolic waste. This can help shorten recovery time from muscular strain and injuries. It also can help improve lymphatic circulation leading to enhanced immunity and the body's ability to detox from environmental pollution.
